Successful Change Management Results in Successful Pay Changes

Virginia Beach recognized benefits of biweekly arrears pay since the early 1990s and had tried unsuccessfully multiple times to transition, but met strong resistance from employees. The change management program that made this transition successful was designed by Finance, incorporating an inclusive approach of communication, outreach and education to employees. Finance partnered with communication experts in Media and Communication, Human Resources, Human Services, and Libraries, and our local Federal Municipal Credit Union to create a public/private sector team working together to help our employees through this transition for a change effective January 2017.
