The Innovation Academy is a tested framework to strengthen the culture of innovation in organizations and provide support for developing innovative project in communities.
In August of 2017, ten organizations set out on their Alliance Innovation Academy journey. Congratulations to the following who will join 44 other organizations who have participated in this keystone Alliance for Innovation program:
- Anaheim, California
- Clearwater, Florida
- Glendale, Arizona
- Guilford County, North Carolina
- East Point City, Georgia
- Olathe, Kansas
- Ontario, California
- Red Wing, Minnesota
- Roswell, Georgia
- Sequim, Washington
These ten organizations each formed an internal team and met monthly with their colleagues from across North America. Through interactive virtual sessions, access to the Alliance's Innovation Playbook, assessment results, and the support of a team mentor they were able to apply their learning to an internal project that will have a lasting impact on their organizations.
The curriculum consisted of sessions on What is Innovation, Setting the Stage to Build a Culture of Innovation, Problem Solving/Opportunity Clarification, Idea Generating, Prototyping and Experimentation, and Implementation, Evaluations and Scaling.
Most of the participating organizations chose to have the Alliance for Innovation come onsite to their organizations and conduct additional training with their leadership team.
The Academy graduates and the Innovation Academy program will be highlighted at the upcoming Transforming Local Government Conference in Tacoma, Washington, which is taking place on April 3-6, 2018.
