Climate change is a significant challenge for communities worldwide. It has been associated with flooding, drought, elevated temperatures, and other conditions that directly affect food supplies, water sources, and public health.
A goal of the CityLinks program is to promote climate-related mitigation and adaptation strategies as a component of all local planning and ongoing operations. This is particularly urgent in urban areas, where economic activity, population growth, and transportation are concentrated.
Through CityLinks, U.S. cities with effective mitigation and adaptation strategies are partnered with their counterparts in developing and transitioning countries to help develop locally appropriate solutions to climate-related challenges.
