Tiny/ Small Homes Policies

I would like to learn more about policies/ guidelines communities have implemented with regards to tiny houses (smaller than 500 sq. feet). Do you think tiny homes is a good alternative for affordable housing options for the elderly, retires, homeless population, lower income families?

Something for you to considering during your planning - One of the critiques I read about tiny homes for elderly, retirees, homeless and low-income, was to consider the needs of the population. If ADA accessible accessories are needed or standards may be met, many tiny homes cannot accommodate ADA standards. Some may have physical limitations that would prevent them from being able to climb a ladder or would limit moving a wheelchair around the space. It may be helpful to consider tiny home designs that are ADA accessible.
