Sarah Alig asked

Does ICMA collect or provide data that I could use to identify midwest cities with council-manager government and a population in the range of 65,000-90,000? Where would I go to look for such a thing?

Sarah, one site you might try for municipalities in southeast Michigan is SEMCOG.org
It has demographic information you might find useful.

These are the "midwest" states according to the US census : Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. Are these the states you want to search? I can send you a list of cities with pop. 65-90K. I am not an ICMA member, so don't know if ICMA has a list of cities with council-manager gov. If they do, I can match them to the midwest cities pop 65-90 for you.

That would be incredibly helpful! Exactly what I am looking for. I am using a number of filters to narrow down the list but this is a great place to start.
Thank you!

Sarah,

I'm currently working on seeing if we can pull this data for you from our database.

Attached is the list of midwest cities with 2015 pop >= 65,000 and <= 90,000. I also have a list with type of government (unverified, but sourced from available Internet info) if you want me to send. However, ICMA may be the best source for this info.

I like to use the census of governments that the US Census does every five years (2017 is the next). See https://www.census.g..
