The City of West St. Paul is currently drafting a housing plan. West St. Paul is a fully developed first ring suburb consisting of a high percentage of rental property (40+ percent) with an aging housing stock. The city has a high percentage of seniors and is becoming more diverse. Some of the primary topics of the plan are life cycle housing, housing rehab/retrofitting (single family and multi family), the overall goal of attracting young professionals and families.
We are looking for ideas on how other similar communities are planning for their future housing needs. If you have recently completed a housing plan that includes a unique perspective and/or innovative approach we would love to see examples. Thanks for your assistance!!
