Our mission is to improve the transition between emergency response and post-disaster infrastructure reconstruction (PDIR) and promote disaster preparedness and mitigation. Our priority is to accomplish this mission between USAID's Offices of Foreign Disaster Assistance and Infrastructure & Engineering and on the international stage between multilateral donors, national governments, NGOs, and volunteers by creating an international organizational structure. To achieve our mission, our goal is to facilitate a smooth transition between post-disaster relief and reconstruction through a PDIR Operations Guide, an on-line repository of tools and resources, and regular trainings.
