Northwest NextGen

A professional network of Oregon and Washington city/county managers and graduate students and others interested in a career in local government management. The group is a tool for members of OCCMA, WCCMA, universities in Oregon and Washington, and all prospective (new) local government managers in the two states. Its purpose is to share resources and information that will help prepare the next generation for careers in cities and counties in the Pacific Northwest, and to actually get meaningful jobs in this great profession.

Hey Everyone - Don't forget the Northwest Regional Managers Conference next week in Stevenson! As of this moment, we've got 129 registrants but there is still room for more. Students, members in transition, retirees, and range riders only pay for meals and travel costs. I hope to see you there!

I just wanted to introduce myself to the group. I recently joined ICMA after chancing upon the website in an [ongoing] attempt to secure employment in the Washington region (a particularly difficult undertaking, as I currently reside in Maine). I have already discovered that this organization is an invaluable tool for someone such as myself who is just beginning a career in the field. I was even more thrilled when I discovered a group dedicated to NextGen Administrators in the Northwest region. I look forward to being included in future discussions in your group and welcome any questions or suggestions.

John Garvison

John Garvison Welcome John. Good luck with your future career plans, and the NorthWest is a beautiful place to live and work.

Charles Bush

Charles Bush Hey John - Thanks for your interest in WA. I'm happy to help you out in any way that I am able. Please feel free to contact me about opportunities in WA. I'm also happy to help with your resume if you need it.

John Greenwood

John Greenwood Thank you both. I may have only had the opportunity to visit Washington once, but it came off as a great place to raise a family and an excellent environment in which to develop and maintain a career.
