Although Wichita, Kansas was at the tail end of the recession and is still feeling the effects of it, commercial construction activity is doing well right now. There are many large projects coming into our office for plan reviews and permits. The USD 259 $370 millon school bond project, which was approved by voters in 2008, is beginning to pick up again after the School Board decided earlier this year to do a "pause and study" survey. This project is expected to support thousands of jobs in the area and boost the local economy.
