In the city of Provo, UT, residents are creating a development plan for the city’s west side—and thanks to a new online forum called Open City Hall, they can do it without leaving their couches.
Realizing that much of the community is already active on online, especially on social media, Provo City Council decided to find an online tool that could collect public input in a more structured format. After a competitive bidding process, Provo city staff elected to collaborate with Peak Democracy to launch Open City Hall.
“It was super user-friendly and convenient,” writes one Provo resident in a feedback survey, who is among the dozens who have offered input within the forum’s first week. “Thank you for implementing this option for input!”
