Greetings from Singapore - T-7 days to Washington!

Melissa Low

Attending COP21 in Paris last December

Hello! My name is Melissa Low, and I was born and raised in Singapore. I am delighted to have been selected to represent Singapore at this year's Spring YSEALI Professional Fellows Program!

A little bit about myself: I work as a Research Associate at a think-tank called the Energy Studies Institute based at the National University of Singapore. In my job, I analyze international climate change negotiations, for inclusion in monographs, internationally peer reviewed journal (IRJ) publications and op-eds in local, regional and international media channels. I also serve as the Designated Contact Point (DCP) for the National University of Singapore's participation to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) as a Research and Independent Non-Governmental Observer Organization. In this role, I work with colleagues from the university to foster awareness on the importance of academic research on ways to address climate change, both in Singapore and in our region.
