What You Missed on the Knowledge Network: February 14-20 2014

Every day on the Knowledge Network, users share their ideas and experiences with their local government peers by sharing resources.  These resources, which can be found on the Knowledge Network’s Questions,BlogsGroups and Document pages offer case studies and discussions about the newest innovations in local governance. This week, the Knowledge Network became the new home of:

  • Many new blog posts, including a new addition to the Professional Fellows Exchange Program blog, “Wellington was a WOW!,”which offers Deputy City Manager, Jerene Watson’s perspective on her recent trip New Zealand to learn about international governance policies.
  • New discussions prompted by questions like this one about policies for remote attendance to committee meetings for County Board Supervisors.
  • A brochure for the Cal-ICMA Coaching Program that includes information on the all meetings and webinars in the 2014 Coaching Program, beginning February 23 at the Leadership Institute.
  • A blog post from Nora Neus, Budget and Management Intern at the City Manager’s office in Charlottesville, Virginia that discusses strategic planning meetings restored her faith in politics.

If you would like to share resources that your municipality has developed, feel free to add them to the Document page, or reach out to me if you need any help, at jdavidson@icma.org. To be sure, we can never have enough answers to our members’ Questions, so after you’ve submitted your documents, go ahead and answer a few!

Aloha,
