Benchmarking is the process of comparing one's organizational processes and performance metrics to industry bests or best practices from other industries.
Benchmarking is an instrumental tool to quantifiably measure the organization's strengths and weaknesses. Once the benchmarking exercise of your organization is concluded, whether it be a For-Profit or a Local Governmental Agency, significant tangible value can be added if the improvement process is appropriately structured.
