Town of Southern Pines, North Carolina Hosts a Day in the Life of a Park Ranger

Ages 6-12 enjoyed a quick look at the life of a park ranger and learned the operations and tasks that a park ranger needs to know; behind-the-scenes work, leading and teaching groups about enviromental awareness, now they decide where to develop trails, awareness of the environmental responsibilities and challenges of the job.

Southern Pines, NC is located in Moore County on the fringe of the Piedmont section of the state in an area known as the Sandhills. Incorporated in 1887, the town has a current population of approximately 11,586 and encompasses 16.456 square miles.

It is the mission of this, the official site of the Town of Southern Pines, to provide web customers with the online resources you need -- for living, doing business, visiting or seeking information or service in the Town.

Southern Pines encourages citizen involvement in planning and guiding Town programs and services. In addition to regular Boards and Commissions, citizens participate in special committees, such as the one which guided the development of the Comprehensive Long-Range Plan.

The Town is currently engaged in a study and revision of the Unified Development Ordinance and actively seeks stakeholder and citizen participation in meetings for this project.
