The City endeavors to maintain leading-edge technology while providing cost effective IT services. As part of the Information Technology Department, the Software Engineer is part of a team tasked with the development, implementation, and maintenance of the City's portfolio of Web, Windows Forms and mobile software applications under the supervision of the IT Applications Manager.

•Must be able to design, develop, deploy and maintain software applications using a combination of technologies including: Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft SQL Server, Google Chrome Web Development Tools, Android Development Studio, Swift and Objective-C, Microsoft SQL Server Reporting;
•Exhibits knowledge and experience with databases. City standard is Microsoft SQL Server;
•Adheres to best practices and departmental policies for application development and change management controls;
•Identifies and resolves complex software application issues that affect City Departments' ability to meet objectives;
•Provide constructive feedback in meetings and to other team members.
•Identifies and recommends process/procedure/control improvements;
•Develops and maintains effective customer and vendor relationships;
•Remains knowledgeable about emerging programming technologies;
•Directly reports to the IT Applications Manager;
•Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or MIS.
- Must have at least one year of experience designing, installing, configuring, monitoring, optimizing, and maintaining web and Windows Forms applications.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Extensive hands-on experience using Microsoft Visual Studio and SQL Server is highly preferred.
- Experience working on mobile apps for iOS and Android is a plus.
