Parking Meter Technician
In this position, you will perform a variety of maintenance and repair work on electronic parking meters.
Essential Job Functions - the basic job duties an employee must be able to perform:
Collect and deposit monies from City parking meters; check operation and visually inspect meters during route collection
Audit parking meters daily; collect data and generate reports; and pull transition logs from computer for parking meter citations
Perform administrative tasks related to inventory control, revenue control, data collection, and reporting
Install, remove, and replace parking meter poles; paint parking meter poles; and layout and paint on-street parking stall markings
We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:
Knowledge of modern office procedures and equipment, including computers and supporting software
Ability to safely operate various hand and power tools, including a jackhammer, core drill, acetylene torch, arc and MIG welder, and striping machine
Successful candidate will have:
A high school diploma or GED supplemented by specialized training in parking meter repair, maintenance, or a related field
Two years of full-time parking meter maintenance and repair, or related experience
Possess, or obtain upon hire, and maintain a valid Colorado driver's license
Machines, Tools, Equipment, and Work Aids: Coin collection cart, telephone, calculator, printer, vehicles, arc and MIG welder, gas torch, generator, small hand tools, pole straightener, paint machine, core driller, air compressor, power hand tools, hand held computer, personal computer, printer, copier, gloves, reflective safety gear, welding helmet, safety glasses, and respirator.
Specialized Computer Equipment and Software: Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel).
Physical Demands: This position requires the ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally, 25 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly; and walk for extended periods.
