The Human Services Department (HSD) seeks a forward thinking leader to oversee their Fiscal Accounting Section!

About the Position -

The Departmental Accounting Manager supports HSD in maintaining fiscal accountability through the monitoring and reporting of revenues and expenditures, assuring the quality and accuracy of accounting and fiscal support services, and assisting with preparation of the department's annual budget. This position oversees the Financial Accounting Unit's 35 employees, directly leading a team of six accountants.

Ideal candidates will possess:
• Proven fiscal management experience in a complex organization, preferably in governmental finance and accounting
• Strong leadership skills that promote effective communication with staff and a positive, collaborative work environment throughout the organization
• The ability to develop creative solutions to administrative and management challenges
• A commitment to organizational efficiencies and the ability to effectively implement ongoing quality improvement initiatives
• Experience in contract and grant management
• Familiarity with State and Federal laws regarding Human Services funding
