The Loudoun Department of Family Services is seeking a dynamic and innovative executive to serve as Deputy Director. The successful candidate will work closely with the department director, executive leadership team, program managers and dedicated staff to advance the department’s goal of becoming a modern, responsive, outcome-focused and client-centered organization that strengthens individuals and families in the Loudoun community. The Deputy Director reports directly to the Department Director and oversees all direct client service operations and housing and community development. Responsibilities of this position include strategic and operational planning, cross-agency collaboration, coordination with non-profits and community groups, program oversight of budget and contracts, and continuous quality improvement. This position requires extensive administrative, supervisory, program development and leadership experience. The candidate must have a demonstrated success record in human services innovation and organizational change efforts. Additional responsibilities include a robust evaluation of program services to ensure compliance with local, state and federal requirements. In the Department Director’s absence, the Deputy Director will also represent the agency in regional and state executive meetings.
Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Public Administration or a related field and a minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible management and leadership experience of a complex human services system. Preferred Qualifications: Experience leading organizational change efforts in human services Developing performance measurement plans for direct service programs Strong background in human services innovation Advanced knowledge and skills in clinical practice Program development and evaluation Quality improvement and monitoring compliance with local, state and federal requirements Experience working with a culturally diverse workforce and communities Exceptional communication and collaboration skills. Subject to call 24/7 at the discretion of the Director and/or County Administrator. Successful candidate will undergo a criminal background check that includes CPS, credit and driving record checks.
