As part of its renewed commitment to economic development, the Town of Marana, AZ has created two incentive programs aimed at attracting and growing highwage, sustainable employers and jobs. The Marana Job Creation Incentive Program (MJCIP) allows an employer making at least a $2 million capital investment in new or renovated facilities to request reimbursement of construction sales tax revenues generated by their project.
The reimbursements can be used to provide internships to Marana students, assist with employee relocation expenses or improve the appearance of their facilities along the I-10 corridor. The Expedited Development Review Incentive Program (EDRIP) helps employers get through the Town’s Development Services Center faster by allowing them to take advantage of expedited development review and processing.
Employers using the EDRIP will be eligible for priority review of development plans, use of the Town’s new “roundtable” style development review, and a dedicated building inspector assigned to their project.
Sargent Aerospace and Defense will be the first user of the Marana Job Creation Incentive Program.
