Cape Coral, FL Economic Development Office (EDO) has a new tool to track available commercial property in the city.  EDO has a subscription to CoStar, a company that tracks all commercial properties for realtors and other subscribers.

"It's always been difficult to know exactly where there's available space for businesses because building occupancies can change several times over any given year," says Christy Vogt, EDO's business development coordinator.  "Now, we subscribe to a database containing this vital information."

The database belongs to CoStar, a national online company that tracks commercial property inventory throughout the United States.  Each listing contains the name, address and photo of the property, whether it is industrial, office, retail or flex space, the square footage, parking, and the percentage of the building that's occupied.  CoStar also tracks vacant land and buildings in permitting.

"This tool has helped with the US Army Reserve site search and a host of other small businesses looking for a new home.  "Clients want to know how much space is available and where new development is happening. Now we have solid data to give them," says Vogt.
