CHOICES (Community Health Offering Innovative Care and Educational Services) is a health services program offered by the Alachua County Board of Commissioners. The program is designed to help uninsured residents of Alachua County stay healthy. Through partnerships with local medical and dental care providers, CHOICES provides access to services that many working, uninsured people need but may put off due to a lack of adequate health coverage.
The mission of CHOICES is to improve health care access for residents of Alachua County through the administration of innovative and cost-effective programs.
By taking advantage of preventive healthcare services, eligible residents may be able to avoid emergency room visits and costly hospitalizations. Regular preventive care also helps to reduce the risks associated with the onset or late diagnosis of chronic illnesses.
As an advocate for the uninsured in Alachua County, CHOICES strives to provide quality care to the medically underserved; helping to make Alachua County a healthier, more productive community.
