“Deliberate Practice…an understanding of it illuminates the path to high achievement in any field, not just by individuals but also by teams and organizations.”
The Alliance for Innovation Ambassador Program continues to share new techniques to encourage you to think beyond ordinary boundaries to build extraordinary organizations. In the October Update, you will read more great examples of how to do this including:
· The Talent in Durham, NC: Tom Bonfield, City Manager of Durham discusses how they are building a “Culture of Service” and developing talent in their organization.
· Talent is Overrated, Part II: Kathleen R. Leidich, Assistant to the Town Manager, Leesburg, VA will lead the second part of our book discussion on what separates high level performers from others, and the role deliberate practice has in creating high-level performance.
· Time to Ideate: Where’s the Connection?: Gain insight into how private sector companies are developing their innovators ability to associate and make connections across seemingly unrelated questions, problems, and ideas.
· Time to Ideate: REVISITED: Scenario Planning: Is there merit to this idea or just another crazy notion? Learn how Shell Oil is using scenario planning to navigate through the inevitable turbulence of the next 50 years.
What has the Ambassador Program meant to you? This December, we will send Ambassadors a quick survey to find out if the Ambassador Program is achieving its goal – building your innovation skills set and further driving innovative thinking in your organization? Determining if it’s a hit or miss – well, we are leaving that up to you, so please keep an eye out for the survey in December.
Also, don’t forget that Ambassador Resources are available for you. Use your Knowledge Center Member ID/Password to access ambassador resources. If you aren't sure of your login please contact your Regional Director.
