2009 Transforming Local Government Conference

Case Study Application
The Alliance for Innovation is accepting applications from local governments that are interested in presenting during the 15th Annual TLG Conference, May 13-15, 2009 in Corpus Christi, TX. The conference theme is
Imagining Innovation.
Please submit a successful program, project, or initiative your
organization has undertaken that you believe is innovative to local government.
To Apply:
During the course of the TLG
Conference, diverse participants engage in cross-functional
networking and thought-provoking workshops. TLG attendees represent
public service professionals from all over the country, including
elected officials, city and county managers, department directors,
chiefs of police/fire, supervisors, department assistant managers,
administrators, assistant city/county managers, and front-line staff
among others. Many organizations send teams to the conference, which
allows for a unique learning opportunity.
Please submit the following in ELECTRONIC FORMAT ONLY by
October 3, 2008 to Brandi Allen at
ballen@transformgov.org.
Limit two applications per government. Applications are screened and each applying team will be interviewed. Selected entries will be notified by October 31, 2008.

Cover Sheet Information:
*Mandatory, most communication will be via e-mail.
Synopsis:
Describe your program, project, or initiative in a narrative not to exceed 2 pages.
Components of Your Presentation:
In addition to a two page synopsis, please answer the following "Components of Your Presentation" questions.
Innovation/Creativity:
How did you encourage creativity in order to generate solutions? How did your program/concept stretch or improve the boundaries of ordinary governmental operations? Were new technologies necessary and what methods and/or applications did you incorporate? Was an outside consultant used? If yes, indicate the level of involvement and identify the firm.
Citizen Outcomes:
What customer needs and expectations were identified and fulfilled? How did your initiative improve access to your government? How has the health of your community improved as a result?
Applicable Results and Real World Advice:
What are the applications you could share that would be of value to another local government? What are the results/outcomes? If performance measures were used, please describe those results.
